Janice and Alex's wedding at Terra Mia Vineyard in Paso Robles was a stunning celebration of love, elegance, and meaningful details. This beautiful couple, known for their thoughtfulness and attention to detail, brought a unique story to their special day. Having fallen in love in Shanghai and spent the first six years of their relationship there, it was essential for them to subtly incorporate elements of their shared history into the wedding. Their beloved fur baby, Kota, also played a special role in the celebration, with a concierge hired to ensure he was comfortable and included.
Despite a forecast of rain, the wedding day unfolded beautifully. The skies cleared just in time for their first look and ceremony, allowing them to exchange vows in the warm sunshine. The reception was held under a stunning sailcloth tent, where guests enjoyed a family-style dinner, dancing, and festive celebrations. Unique design elements, such as a champagne display adorned with fortune cookie garnishes, added a playful nod to their Shanghai connection, while a custom-built structure hung white oriental lanterns above the bar, featuring the iconic “double happiness” symbol as a heartfelt tribute to their love story.
The elegant and romantic atmosphere of the venue was enhanced by Terra Mia’s breathtaking scenery, complete with a serene pond, willow trees, stone bridges, a waterfall, and sprawling vineyards. The springtime romance theme was evident in the tasteful use of spring-inspired colors, balanced beautifully with whites, gold accents, and elegant details. The floral design was a standout feature, with vibrant colors and lush arrangements that captured the essence of the season and elevated the overall aesthetic.
Behind the scenes, the possibility of rain prompted a last-minute redesign of the layout, but thanks to our well-prepared Plan B, we smoothly navigated the necessary changes while prioritizing the original design and vibe. The sailcloth tent created an intimate and enchanting space that perfectly complemented Janice and Alex’s vision for their wedding day. The combination of elegant decor, heartfelt tributes to their past, and the stunning natural beauty of Terra Mia Vineyard made this celebration an unforgettable chapter in their love story.
